Base is incubated within Coinbase and plans to progressively decentralize in the years ahead. We believe that decentralization is critical to creating an open, global crypto economy that is accessible to everyone.
Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We’re joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it’s a public good available to everyone; and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods.
The Build Onchain team’s goal is to build tools and products for onchain builders as part of Coinbase Developer Platform. We partner with other Coinbase products such as Developer Platform, CB Wallet, Security so onchain developers can start building their apps in minutes.
We are looking for a senior fullstack engineer with experience working on scalable frontend applications. We are looking for a scrappy self-starter mindset with willingness to push through friction to improve customer experience. Our team is a highly cross-functional team with many integration projects, so this engineer needs to have great communication skills and past experience in leading and delivering cross-functional projects.
What you’ll be doing:
- Tech lead cross functional initiatives to bring Coinbase developer products, services, APIs to external builders.
- Design and build new features to meet critical product and business needs with React, React Query, and Typescript.
- Design and implement technical solutions that are highly available, scalable and maintainable in the long-term.
- Build design treatments and experimental control flow to support experimental UX.
- Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
- Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap.
What we look for in you:
- You have at least 5+ years of experience in developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern, component-based JS frameworks like React.
- You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
- You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
- You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
- You have a self-starter mindset with willingness to push through friction to improve customer UX.
- You are excited about building onchain products and tools, and closely follow onchain tech developments and news.
Nice to haves:
- Experience building developer tools
- Experience with backend systems, architecture and languages such as GoLang.
- Experience with Figma or similar design tools
- Experience with EsLint, Prettier, Webpack
- Familiarity with GQL framework and NextJS
- Experience working fullstack across Web, Mobile, and Backend
- Experience with building onchain
